For some years, I have been researching the history of my maternal line of Pilgrim, which I have traced to Shephall in the 1460's.

By the 1760's the family was settled in and around Watton, Wempstead, Aston, Walkern (Bassus Green), Bennington and Codicote.

Two sisters of my ggggg-grandfather were married to tradesmen living in Little Munden -

In 1781, Sarah was married to Samuel Burr, who was a Wheelwright, like his father Daniel and grandfather Samuel. They had at least seven children christened at All Saints.

In 1800 (at Watton), Frances (called Fanny) married Richard Smith, who was a butcher like his father Thomas. Thomas (d.1807) and his wife Ann (d.1825) are buried in the cemetery. Fanny and Richard later moved to Waltham Abbey.

I wonder whether any of your community might know anything more of these families?
